Which is worse, failing or never trying?

I think failing is worse then trying because if you try you do not have to feel so bad about it because at least you try doing it then just not trying at all.  On the other hand failing is worse because of cores you are going to fail because you did not try your best to do something right , yes trying is always best then failing and not trying at all.
